10 Strange People, One Little Girl, Two Games

I recently ran across this list of truly unique and weird individuals from all over the world. The only thing they have in common is that they are all alive and they are all men. One of them, a Japanese politician believes he is Jesus. Another man was born with the unborn fetus of his twin brother still inside his torso. And another man who claims to not have slept in over 30 years.

That website has a lot of other good lists on it of amazing things I've never seen before.

Speaking of things I've never seem before; Here is a video I just saw today of the reality TV show Britain's Got Talent.

The little girl in this video sings a touching version of "Over the Rainbow." She convinced Simon Cowell and I think she deserves to win this competition, hopefully she isn't a one trick pony.

The following two games are both really fun and unique. The first game is a little hard to understand at first I solved the first level without even knowing what I was doing. But the second level stumped me so I read the directions; you just have to uncross all the lines of the web.

The next game is the latest in a series of games where you simply have to keep your mouse cursor from being touched by the moving objects in the game.

Have fun.

IRL: The Internet Supports Unplugged Activities

Even when surfing the internet we are all immersed in our real world concerns, whatever they may be. Luckily for us the internet is there to help. Plenty of great sites are going up all the time dedicated to giving you real applicable advice and information that can have an effect on your everyday life. As opposed to your virtual life, if you have one of those.

As it is spring or summer now in even the most frigid holdouts of the Northern Hemisphere (where we assume most of our readers reside, if we are wrong let us know) here is a great site that can help you tackle any obstinate cleaning tasks you come across.

Also, the summer is a great time to shop for a new car. Here is a great little video filter hosted on the Consumer Reports site that gives you crash test video and ratings of practically all new cars available.

Eating isn’t just something you do when its warm outside. So I don’t have a segue for this one. But I like food. And I like trying new food. But I find that my bookshelves are quickly becoming victim to the habit of buying cookbooks for their recipes. With this site available my bookshelves can go back to being host to dirty Irish limerick books.

This game is pretty cool and has nothing to do with reality. You are given $100K to start this game and you buy houses with the goal of raising $10,000,000 so you can buy a mansion. Once you have the mansion, you win. My best record on this one is 13 years and 5 months.

Sopranos Blows and Cat Toes?

So, the big story on all the websites today was the ending of Sopranos. When did the ending of a scripted TV show elicit such a response? Especially a TV show that you had to pay to see. Lots of people watched the ending of Mash, plenty was written about the ending of Seinfeld, people are already speculating about the ending of the Simpsons.

Shows like American Idol and other live events, pay per view or otherwise, are regularly reported on. Those were and are all mostly free to watch (the highlights at least for pay per view), and this is clearly as sign of our continuing expansion of media, and admittedly I’m contributing to it. But still everybody knows what the Sopranos is and was. Which is impressive.

For some news of the more everyday variety.

Recently a high school student in Oregon discovered that the drinking fountains in his high school contained more bacteria than the toilets. So clearly the janitorial staff is to blame for neglecting the water fountains and spending too much time in the loo.

In political news Colin Powell recently state that the Guantanamo Bay prison facility that the US Government operates within Cuban borders be closed. He thinks the people held there would be better situated within US borders in our own prison systems. Other US officials state that the Cuban facility offers better accommodations than many US locations where the prisoners would other wise be held. Is that a criticism of our prison systems or political posturing?

And if you don’t think any of this is news worthy than how about a cat with 26 toes. It’s not a world record but it could be a record in the UK. The US record is 32 feline toes. Just one more thing we do better than Europe; mutations in our pets.
